• How to save on gas

From Mike Miller@1:154/30 to All on Fri Mar 13 08:34:16 2026

    Hello everybody!

As gas prices have skyrocketed (25% or more in the last couple weeks), Here's some tips on how to save at the pump!

    1. Check your tire pressure. (underinflated tires can lower your gas mileage!)

    2. Drive a little slower (keep the RPMs down to use less fuel!)

    3. Avoid stop & go traffic

    4. remove extra weight from your vehicle

    5. accelerate slowly & gently (lower RPMs = less fuel usage!)

    6. Don't start a war because Israel tells you to, or to distract from the Epstein files.

    Buy a Rivian.

Not all of us are wealthy to buy a Rivian.

Good news! the R2 pricing was just announced, and it's similar to the Tesla Model Y price-range for the base R2.

If you desperately need to own a car to announce your manhood, the $86k Rivian is the only choice now that Ford has halted the production of the F-150 Lightning.

I thought you were talking about saving money? Buying a new Rivian is probably not what people struggling with higher gas prices are considering.

Maybe a simple calculation based on very common examples would be better?

    Vehicle Value:
    You can sell a 5-year-old Ford F-150 Lariat for approximately $31,000 - $35,000 and purchase a used Tesla Model 3 for about $20,000 - $23,000.

    Immediate Cash Gain:
You pocket roughly $10,000 in cash upfront from the trade.

    Ongoing Monthly Savings:
You reduce your "fuel" expenses by approximately $144 per month (over $1,700 per year) based on current U.S. national averages.

    Maintenance:
The Tesla Model 3 is estimated to have 40-60% lower maintenance costs, as it eliminates oil changes and has significantly fewer moving parts.

    Good tips!

    2. Drive a little slower (keep the RPMs down to use less fuel!)

Air resistance is a big contributor to MPG, too. The faster you go, the
    more drag air creates.

    3. Avoid stop & go traffic

I drove a Prius for 10 years, anticipating traffic makes a huge
difference. I'd coast to a stop when there wasn't traffic behind me
(although with regenerative braking, I'd get a charge boost from light
    braking)
